Cotton Blend Dress Shirts – Durable and Economical

One of the characteristics that highlight cotton blend shirts is the use of synthetic and natural fibres that are used to make them. It is true that 100 % cotton dress shirts have certain advantages over other shirts, but it must be pointed out that synthetic fibres are used in the weave to produce a particular feature that pure cotton cannot achieve alone. Based on this fact it can be easily seen that there are certain drawbacks that 100% cotton dress shirts have that can only be solved with the use of synthetic material. Given the spacing between the fibres cotton can readily absorb sweat and dirt that is in the air. However, despite this positive side to cotton dress shirts and the given fact that they are resistant to repetitive washing, excess heat is known to cause a change in its structure.

The most popular types of cotton blend that are used are the cotton and polyester blend shirt and the cotton and Lyca blend shirt. By applying polyester to the cotton fibre it increases the overall lifespan of the dress shirt. It is also known that wrinkling does not easily affect polyester fibres. Apart from this, its is also a material the dries very fast. When polyester fibre is added to the cotton dress shirt it increases its resistance to stretching and shrinking. Both the cotton and poly blend are known to join the two properties of both fibres-that is- being resistant to wrinkling and staining while maintaining a wet free and comfortable wear. A poly blend does not shrink at the first wash unlike cotton dress shirts and this is a great advantage for those who do not wish to change their wardrobe too often.

Spandex is a combination of cotton and Lycra to obtain an overall material that stretches. The advantage with this is that it is ideal for fitting dress shirts since it adapts itself to the physique of the wearer. A cotton dress shirt cannot achieve certain results alone and that is why natural and artificial materials are combined to overcome this obstacle. Cotton blend shirts bridges the gap with both materials in that both work to overall the shortcomings of the other.
