Shirt Measurements
The collar measurement should be taken from the outer edge of the buttonhole to the center of the collar button when the collar is spread flat.
Measure across the shirt from edge to edge. For Chest, make sure you measure from the corner seam.
The chest measurement is taken across the chest at the widest point. Measure from the corner seam under the armpit and run the tape measure across the shirt to the symmetrical point on the other side.
The waist measurement it taken at the narrowest point of the shirt which is usually halfway between the armpit line and the bottom of the shirt. Measure across the torso of the shirt from one edge to the other.
The hips measurement should be taken across the bottom of the shirt from seam to seam. Start at the bottom corner of the side seam and measure across to the symmetrical point on the other side.
Measure from the upper edge of the shirt, right where it meets the collar seam. Run the tape measure down the shirt to the edge at the bottom of the shirt. This measurement is normally longer than your sleeve length.
The shoulder width measurement is taken across the back of the shirt between the top corner points where the shoulders meet the sleeves. Pull the shoulder section of the shirt straight and measure across from point to point.
The sleeve length measurement should be taken from the shoulder/sleeve seam along the upper edge of the sleeve to the edge of the cuff.
Measure from the shoulder corner point, along the upper edge of the sleeve, down to the edge of the cuff.
The armhole measurement should be taken as a straight line across the armhole from corner seam to corner seam.
Measure across the width of the sleeve at the bicep, which is approximately 6 inches down from the shoulder corner seam.
